The focus of treatment on the unit for patients with a mental health crisis, is crisis stabilization and linkage to ongoing outpatient therapy and/or medication management services. There is an emphasis on safety and providing a comfortable and supportive environment.  The healing process beings through a combination of talk therapy, activity therapies (art, music, movement, etc.), and the use of an interactive Media Board.  Caregivers are involved in the development of treatment goals and asked to attend multiple family sessions. Ages for admission are 9-17. 

Dayton Children's Psychiatry Clinic, provides outpatient services focused on patients ages 4 to 16 years old with the concerns such as Complex mental health needs and multiple medication attempts with limited improvement, previously diagnosed with autism and/or developmental delay who are exhibiting several problems, and medical conditions with concurrent mental health concerns.

Dayton Children's Psychology Clinic provides outpatient services for Medical adherence and healthy lifestyle behaviors, Adjustment/coping strategies for illness, injuries and, procedures, Anxiety and depression, Pain management and relaxation strategies, Child behavior concerns, Assessment of developmental concerns, and Cognitive testing. 

Deborah Baldwin, MS, LPCC provides counseling services for children ages 16 and up with conditions such as, PTSD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexual abuse, and anger management. She accepts most private insurances. Please reach out to this provider directly for more information.
