Amy Kosanovich is a nurse practitioner in pediatric surgery at Dayton Children's and has been with the hospital since 2007.

Prior to her role as a nurse practitioner in pediatric surgery, Amy worked in the hospital's gastroenterology department. She also spent nearly 10 years as a staff nurse on one of the hospital's inpatient units.

Amy received her master's degree in nursing from Wright State University and her bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

I chose my specialty because...

as an RN I cared for surgical patients on 3 East for 8 years. As I transition to my role as an APRN, I am ready for the challenge of caring for these patient’s in a different scope of practice and expand my knowledge, clinical skills and critical thinking skills. I want to make a difference in what is often a difficult time for these patients and families.

I chose to work at Dayton Children's because...

I love working with kids! They make each day happier and brighter. I love the relationships and bonds I have developed and will hopefully continue to develop with the patients and families that I care for.

Dayton Children's is special because...

it allows me to continue my passion and care for kids and their families while also being a fun place to work!

I do not have enough good things to say about our experience with dayton childrens. From the unexpected arrival through the ER, surgery, discharge and follow up appointment. Everyone was wonderful! Thank you so much for putting this mothers mind at ease during such a stressful time!

I absolutely adore everyone at this location. We have had to make many trips here and everyone has been fabulous!

I called because my son was experiencing some post operative complications. They fit us in the same day and when we arrived 35 minutes early they still brought us back before our appointment time. Kudos to your staff! Thank you!
