Anne Mackow, MD, MPH, is a pediatric surgeon at Dayton Children's Hospital. She has extensive experience in surgical quality and safety, as well as expertise in minimally invasive surgery and slipping rib syndrome.
Dr. Mackow attended Amherst College in Massachusetts for undergrad studies where she graduated Magna cum laude. Following college, she attended New York Medical College where she earned her medical degree and graduated second in class. After medical school, Dr. Mackow completed an internship with the department of general surgery at the University of California at Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. She remained at the University of California for an additional four years to complete her residency in general surgery. To round out her post-graduate training, Dr. Mackow moved from the west coast to the sunshine state to attend the University of Florida where she completed her fellowship in pediatric surgery. Before joining the division of pediatric surgery at Dayton Children's, Dr. Mackow spent nearly nine years at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital where she led several quality improvement initiatives, including Children's Surgery Verification.
When asked why she likes working with kids Dr. Mackow responded, "They are amazing--they bounce back from thought things and blossom when they are loved."
