Many times a child’s ongoing medical conditions often require additional resources to assist parents and caregivers. With our Family Support Resource Directory, you can search resources that span over the 20-county area that Dayton Children’s serves. You can quickly connect to local, regional and national resources to help you locate information about education, healthcare, financial, transition, recreation, networking, future planning and more.

This guide is organized to help you find the information that you need:

  • To the right are pages specific to parents, professionals and teens. This may be a good starting point for those new to our directory.
  • To the left is a list of categories that our resources cover.
  • Finally, below is a search bar specifically for our Special Needs Resource Center that you can tailor to your county or specific needs.

In addition to the resource center, we also offer the complete KidsHealth Library to help parents learn more about a specific condition. Information is given in easy-to-understand terms and in many cases available in Spanish as well as English.

BCMH-Clark

The BCMH is a program sponsored by the Ohio Department of Health and supported by the Clark County Department of Developmental Disabilities. The purpose of BCMH is to link families with special health care needs to a network of quality providers. It also assists families in obtaining payment for services their children's' needs.

Been There, Done That is a parent driven support group that provides families and caretakers of children with neurodevelopmental disorders and chronic health conditions an opportunity to share information and resources. Belmont Pines Hospital

Description

Belmont Pines Hospital is a residential, long-term care for adolescents ages 6 through 18 with severe emotional and behavioral problems. They rehabilitation and treatment to psychologically challenged adolescents and their families in a therapeutic setting. The medical model features registered nursing care 24/7 and residents are evaluated weekly by a child and adolescent board-certified psychiatrist. Individual, group and family therapy are provided as well as educational services, recreational activities and experiential therapy.
