Many times a child’s ongoing medical conditions often require additional resources to assist parents and caregivers. With our Family Support Resource Directory, you can search resources that span over the 20-county area that Dayton Children’s serves. You can quickly connect to local, regional and national resources to help you locate information about education, healthcare, financial, transition, recreation, networking, future planning and more.

This guide is organized to help you find the information that you need:

  • To the right are pages specific to parents, professionals and teens. This may be a good starting point for those new to our directory.
  • To the left is a list of categories that our resources cover.
  • Finally, below is a search bar specifically for our Special Needs Resource Center that you can tailor to your county or specific needs.

In addition to the resource center, we also offer the complete KidsHealth Library to help parents learn more about a specific condition. Information is given in easy-to-understand terms and in many cases available in Spanish as well as English.

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Toolkit (AAP)

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), with support through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions (CDC) National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) has developed a comprehensive, web-based FASD toolkit that helps to raise awareness, promote surveillance and screening, and ensure that all affected children receive appropriate and timely interventions. Flying Horse Farms

Flying Horse Farms provides magical, transformative camp experiences for children with serious illnesses and their families – free of charge. The children who attend camp have illnesses including cancer, heart conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, blood disorders, asthma, gastrointestinal disorders and craniofacial anomalies. Campers will experience swimming, boating, fishing, canine therapy, high ropes, archery, and arts and crafts are just the beginning of the adventure at Flying Horse Farms.
