Dayton Children’s changes name in a planned re-branding
Official name is now Dayton Children's Hospital
The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton is no longer the official name of the region’s locally-governed, independent children’s hospital. The hospital is now operating under a new name, Dayton Children’s Hospital.
Since 2006, the hospital had been doing business as Dayton Children’s in a planned move to establish a regionally connected brand, yet its official name remained The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton. Now with an established roadmap to remain an independent and locally governed children’s hospital advancing its role as a leader in quality and safety, the hospital believed it was the perfect time to make the name transition official.
“The new name is more reflective of who we are and reaffirms our future—a children’s hospital delivering high quality, comprehensive care to the region’s newborns, children and teens, “ says Dayton Children’s President and CEO Deborah A. Feldman. “Our research indicates a stronger association between higher levels of care and the word ‘hospital’ than with ‘medical center.’ The change further reinforces our leadership in providing critical pediatric services and care to this region.”
