Objectives:
- Differentiate between definitions related to constipation with unified approach to the care of patients with intractable constipation.
- Identify alarm signs and symptoms associated with constipation and fecal incontinence warranting further evaluation.
- Recognize non-pharmacologic adjunct treatment options and categorize multidisciplinary management for patients with functional constipation and fecal incontinence.
- Utilize standardized medical management for patients and list referral criteria for the Bowel Management Program.
