get to know me

I chose my specialty because...

working in the field of Developmental Pediatrics has always been more just than a job to me. It is extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time, and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. I chose my specialty because children with developmental disabilities have always had a special place in my heart. I believe that individuals with different abilities have their own sets of smarts and unique gifts. In fact, working with them tends to bring out the best in the people who truly care for them, and I know that from experience.

I believe that when a child’s future flashes before their parents’ eyes and it doesn’t look good, we have to find ways to make it better… and there are many, many ways to make it better. Pointing families in the right direction and walking with them along their journey to a brighter future is what I’m here for.

I chose to work at Dayton Children's because...

of its commitment to serving our patients and their families with compassionate care regardless of socioeconomic status.  Of course, I should also mention that, although I loved those years of living in a high-rise building in the Big Apple, raising my kids away from the concrete jungle so that they can climb trees, walk barefoot on green grass and build snowmen with pure-driven snow seemed like the right thing to do!

Dayton Children's is special because...

we offer comprehensive medical services, both inpatient and outpatient, in an emotionally supportive setting.

Dr. Amisola is an amazing doctor. She is very personable, explains everything to us, takes the time to listens to our questions and or concerns, doesn't rush us, she's kind, empathetic, and we trust her. I wish all doctors were like her.

This was an appt that we got by chance and dr amisola took more time explaining and helping me understand my son than she actually had time to give. I am so thankful for her and her staff and I wish there were more than just my kind words I could give back to them
