winter weather updates - January 2025
We are closely monitoring the expected winter weather over the next 24-48 hours. Any closures will be shared on all Dayton Children’s social media channels and here on our website.
- As a reminder, our emergency departments will always remain open.
- If you have safety concerns with traveling to your appointment in the severe weather, please call your child’s clinic at 937-641-3000.

Tuesday, January 7 - 7:10 am
- Kids Express locations in Mason and West Chester will remain closed today due to the county level 2 snow emergency.
- All other Dayton Children's locations are back to operating as normal.
Monday, January 6 - 8:45 am
- All Kids Express and Urgent Care locations are closed
- Pediatric Associates of Dayton locations are closed
- Dayton Children's Pediatrics locations (The Connor Child Health Pavilion and Hope Center) 12: 00 pm opening
- Clinic appointments: If you have an appointment scheduled with a specialty care clinic today, you will be notified via text or phone call if your appointment needs to be rescheduled. If you have safety concerns with traveling to your appointment in the severe weather, please call your child’s clinic at 937-641-3000
Monday, January 6 - 6:15 am (primary care updates)
- Pediatric Associates of Springfield: 10:00 am opening
- Cornerstone Pediatrics: 10:00 am opening
Sunday, January 5 - 8:45 pm
- Allergy and sleep appointments at main campus are moved to virtual for the day.
- Rheumatology will be virtual in the morning and re-evaluate by 10:00 am Monday.
Sunday, January 5 - 6:45 pm
- All scheduled surgeries for Monday are still taking place.
- All surgical clinical appointments before 10:00 am Monday, January 6 will be rescheduled. Clinics include pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, urology and ENT.
Sunday, January 5 - 2:15 pm
All Dayton Children's locations are open and will remain open on Monday, January 6. Please check back for updates.
