Dayton Children’s welcomes Jeff Hoagland and Scott Markovich to the Foundation Board
Dayton Children’s welcomes two new board members to the Dayton Children’s Hospital Foundation Board, Jeff Hoagland and Scott Markovich. The Dayton Children’s Foundation Board allocates donated funds every year for programs, research, advocacy and technology to benefit patients and support the mission of the hospital. The Board helps ensure the hospital has the resources it needs to provide the best care for children in the Dayton community.
Dayton Children’s Foundation recently launched the Do.More. so all kids thrive campaign, a $75 million initiative focused on removing barriers to care, advancing medical excellence and addressing the growing mental health needs of children in the region.
Jeff Hoagland is the President and CEO of the Dayton Development Coalition (DDC). The Coalition is the Dayton Region’s economic development organization and principle public advocate.
The DDC is a non-profit economic development organization. A regional network partner for JobsOhio, the DDC supports Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and other federal installations in the region, such as the Springfield Air National Guard Base and the VA Medical Center. The 14-county Dayton Region includes 1.8 million people in Southwestern Ohio.
Prior to joining the DDC, Mr. Hoagland served as the City Manager of the City of Vandalia, Ohio. Prior to that service, Mr. Hoagland worked for the City of Kettering as their Economic Development Director and then the Assistant City Manager.
Jeff is very actively involved in many associations and groups. He is a member of the Air and Space Force Civic Leader Program (ASFCLP), as well as the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) CLP. He is past Chairman of The Big Hoopla NCAA First Four Local Operating Committee. Additionally, Jeff serves on several boards including Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) and Downtown Dayton Partnership. Jeff is also a member the Greater Dayton Mayors and Managers Association, and the Air Force Association (AFA). Mr. Hoagland is frequently a guest lector in government classes at the University of Dayton and Wright State University.
Scott Markovich serves as the Executive Vice President of Markets & Products at CareSource, where he is responsible for overseeing the organization’s health plans, driving member growth, developing provider strategies and ensuring optimal health plan performance. Additionally, Scott leads CareSource’s product strategy. With nearly 30 years of experience in managing health plan P&Ls, developing provider networks, and building specialty health plans and products, he is a seasoned executive in government health care programs. Scott collaborates closely with market and corporate leaders to align operational plans across all states where CareSource operates, focusing on fostering community and business partnerships, as well as maintaining strong relationships with relevant regulatory agencies.
Scott is deeply committed to supporting children and adolescents facing mental health challenges and is eager to contribute to the Dayton Children’s Foundation Board.
