Dayton Children’s and the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery are excited to announce the opening of a new exhibit focused on children’s health and well-being. The Children’s Wellness Exhibit represents a unique collaboration between two organizations deeply committed to nurturing the health, growth and development of children in our community.

The Children’s Wellness Exhibit offers a comprehensive journey through the senses, physical health and emotional well-being. This innovative exhibit encourages visitors to explore the connection between the “hurts you can see” and the “hurts you can’t see” while delivering empowering messages from Dayton Children’s On Our Sleeves program. Designed to demystify medical experiences and promote healthy choices, this exhibit aims to create a welcoming space where children and families can learn about the importance of mental and physical health.

“This partnership between Dayton Children’s and the Boonshoft reflects a shared belief in the importance of nurturing children’s health and growth,” said Debbie Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children’s. “We are excited for the community to embrace the exhibit as a place for connection, education and advocacy for children’s health and wellness. “

The exhibit features hands-on activities that guide visitors through the five senses, encourage mindfulness and highlight the benefits of healthy lifestyles. It also works to ease anxieties around doctor visits and hospital stays, ensuring that young visitors and their families feel more comfortable with medical experiences.

“The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery is proud to partner with Dayton Children’s to bring the Children’s Wellness Exhibit to life,” said Tracey Tomme, President & CEO of the Dayton Society of Natural History. “This exhibit not only helps children and families better understand their health but also fosters conversations about mental and physical well-being in a way that is engaging, accessible, and inspiring. Together, we’re making wellness education an exciting journey.”

The Children’s Wellness Exhibit is included with regular Museum admission.
