Dayton Children’s acquires Cornerstone Pediatrics and Shelby Pediatrics primary care practices
Dayton Children’s acquires Cornerstone Pediatrics, a primary care office located in Springboro at Dayton Children’s south campus, and Shelby Pediatrics, a primary care office in Sidney. This move aligns with the hospital’s primary care strategic priority to create a more accessible and sustainable system of pediatric primary care, while reinventing the medical home and the path to children’s health for families in the region.
“We are committed to caring for the children in our area and continuously look at ways to serve them better,” says Greg Eberhart, MD, founding partner for Cornerstone Pediatrics. “This opportunity benefits families today and opens doors to amazing possibilities in the future.”
“The innovation that we are able to achieve together is already making a difference for kids,” Karen Smith, MD, founder for Shelby Pediatrics. “As members of the Dayton Children’s Health Partners, a clinically integrated network, for many years, we have been able to align care protocols to make sure all children across our region are getting the right care, in the right place and at the right time."
The Cornerstone and Shelby Pediatrics doctors, nurses and staff will be Dayton Children’s employees but will still provide care under Cornerstone and Shelby Pediatrics names. Families will still see the same providers they know and love. The alignment will provide a more seamless experience with elevated collaboration and better continuity of care for children.
“We know we need to reinvent the path to children’s health for the best outcomes and this is yet another step along that path toward achieving the optimal health for every child within our reach,” says Deborah Feldman, president and CEO for Dayton Children’s Hospital.
