what to expect

your visit to Dayton Children's Pediatrics

A typical visit to Dayton Children's Pediatrics includes:

  • A physical exam for your child
  • Screenings to help identify any concerns about your child’s health, growth and development and any other possible needs related to your child’s overall well-being
  • Immunizations, if needed
  • Time to talk about any concerns or questions you have

If your child’s doctor has any concerns about your child’s health, he or she will talk to you about it, offer guidance and suggest resources. Next steps could include providing:

  • Treatment recommendations
  • Additional screenings for problems such as developmental delays, depression and autism
  • A referral for laboratory testing or imaging
  • A referral to a specialist
  • A referral to community resources, such as crisis care or social services

We encourage families to enroll in MyKid’sChart, a free, secure online program that makes it easy to stay in touch with the care team, view their child’s medication information and receive important health reminders. Learn more.
