Dayton Children’s welcomes new pediatric pulmonologist
Elizabeth Bacon, DO, has recently joined the pediatric pulmonology department at The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton. She previously practiced pulmonary medicine in Des Moines, Iowa at Blank Children’s Hospital.
The addition of Dr. Bacon will increase the availability of new patient and follow up appointments in the department of pediatric pulmonology as well as increase the availability of pediatric pulmonologist to answer questions from referring physicians.
She received her medical degree from Des Moines University and completed a post doctoral fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The department of pulmonary medicine provides consultation and care for a variety of respiratory problems in infants, children and teens including acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. The pulmonary medicine department at Dayton Children’s is home to the Regional Cystic Fibrosis Center, which has been accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The staff at Dayton Children's also developed the successful Asthma Care Program, which ensures children with asthma receive consistent, high-quality care as well as patient/family education
