Dayton Children’s Hospital has partnered with Miamisburg City Schools to provide mental health support through its Student Resiliency Program. Student resiliency coordinators have been placed in five Miamisburg schools – Jane Chance Elementary, Kinder Elementary, Bauer Elementary, Miamisburg Middle and Miamisburg High School – to provide resiliency development and care coordination for students and families impacted by trauma.

The Student Resiliency Program focuses on building strengths to help students grow and become successful in seven areas:  competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping and control.  The goal is to provide skills and tools to students, families, and staff to support a strength-based focus for managing challenges.

“Miamisburg City Schools values the support and partnership opportunities from our community partners. Expanding support opportunities for our students and their families is so valuable for our work in educating the whole child," said Dr. Laura Blessing, superintendent for Miamisburg City Schools.

This partnership was made possible through funding from the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) of Montgomery County and the Robert H. Reakirt Charitable Trust.

Dayton Children’s provides mental health support and connection services for 109 schools within the Dayton region in addition to the school-based services offered. The hospital also has Student Resiliency Programs in the following schools:
