welcome

Thank you for your interest in our pharmacy residency program. PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. Our goal is to help each resident develop into a competent and well-rounded clinical practitioner who is confident to provide care for a wide range of disease states and conditions.

Dayton Children’s Hospital PGY1 pharmacy residency program is strategically designed in a manner that supports residents in achieving this purpose.

program overview

Our 12-month residency is a structured training program. The resident will complete a total of 10 required and elective rotations, as well as several longitudinal experiences. Rotations will take place at the main campus of Dayton Children’s Hospital.

This residency program offers an individualized training plan for each resident based on their interests, goals, and past experiences. The resident will also have an opportunity to work towards receiving a teaching certificate.

Upon successful completion of this program, individuals are awarded a residency certificate and become eligible for board certification and for post-graduate year 2 (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
