I chose my specialty because...
I have always been interested in science and medicine. I love to learn new things so I really enjoy the ever changing world of healthcare! From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with children, but I was unsure in what capacity. As a volunteer at Dayton Children's, I was inspired by an advanced practice nurse that worked in hematology/oncology to become an advanced practice nurse.
I chose to work at Dayton Children's because...
After graduating from college with a degree in Biological Sciences, I was a volunteer at Dayton Children's before I became a nurse. In fact, I have over 1000 hours as a volunteer at Dayton Children's! As a volunteer, I loved to see how the staff took such amazing care of families and I knew this is where I wanted to work. I went back to school and eventually became an APRN.
Dayton Children's is special because...
we not only care for the patient, we care for families. Dayton Children's provides an invaluable service to families in our community by providing first class healthcare close to home. Besides that, we like to have fun! What other hospital has a Super Hero day?
