I chose my specialty because...
I chose my specialty because I felt that it was important for me to advance my career in pediatric nursing to continue caring for patients and their families in a time of need just at a higher level of expertise. I have been a pediatric nurse for 14 years and wanted to take the next step in my career to continue caring for children, adolescents, young adults and providing support to their families.
I like working with kids because...
I like working with kids because I have a way with kids. I have a natural rapport with children. Often times, pediatric patients do not understand why certain treatments may need to be completed, so I enjoy having good rapport with children to help make an unpleasant experience a little easier for them.

Dayton Children’s will always be special to me because it was my first nursing job and now will be my first pediatric nurse practitioner job. This is not just a career to me, but my way of living.
