helpful info

save your spot

Similar to making an appointment at a pediatrician’s office, parents should save their spot online to make sure their visit is at a convenient time for them and to reduce the amount of time spent in the waiting room. Walk-ins are also welcome, however scheduled patients will be seen first so we encourage you to check in before you arrive. You also can choose to schedule a video visit with Kids Express to avoid coming to one of our facilities.

Please note that your time choice is only a reservation. Some patients may still have to wait upon arrival. The reservation time given is your anticipated time to a treatment room and does not indicate when you will be seen by a provider; this is defined as the time you check in at the front desk until you are greeted by a staff member.

what to expect

When you visit Kids Express, you can expect to experience the pediatric difference! Kids are not little adults and deserve care designed just for them.

Our board-certified pediatric nurse practitioners provide high quality, affordable health care. Our providers can send you a summary of your visit to your primary care provider, with your permission to ensure they stay informed about your child’s care.

sports physicals

Just like professional sports stars need medical care to keep them playing their best, so do young athletes. Sports physicals help keep them safe on the field, while regular physicals support their overall health and wellbeing. Together, these visits help your child stay healthy, confident and ready to play.

We always recommend calling your child’s primary care provider first to schedule their sports physical. They know your child best and keep a complete record of their health history.

If your child’s primary care provider isn’t available, Kids Express can help. Our pediatric nurse practitioners can perform sports and camp physicals and complete required forms the same day. Sports physicals are $30 and are not billed to insurance.

cost and payment

We want you to know what to expect when it comes to cost, insurance, and payment for your child’s visit at Kids Express. Depending on whether or not you have insurance, here’s what you can expect. Self-pay is available for sports physicals and flu shots. Sports physicals are $30 and are not billed to insurance.

If you have insurance:

  • Kids Express visits are billed as a doctor’s visit.
  • Please bring your insurance card. We will collect any copay at the time of service, then bill your insurance company.
  • After insurance processes your claim, you may receive an additional bill from Dayton Children’s for any remaining amount.
  • If you don’t have your current insurance card, you will need to pay the retail list price in full at your visit.

If you don’t have insurance:

  • You will be sent a bill following your appointment.
