physician connection

Physician connection is a service offered to community physicians that connects them by phone to a specialist at Dayton Children’s to consult about a patient.

The service is provided through the communications center at Dayton Children’s by calling 937-641-4385 and is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Every effort will be made to connect community physicians as quickly as possible, depending on availability of specialists and urgency of need for consultation.

The communication center at Dayton Children’s is staffed by licensed pediatric medical professionals 24/7 and available by calling 937-641-4385 to accommodate the following needs:

  • Emergency department referral
  • Communication with an emergency medicine provider
  • NICU referral with direct communication with our NICU staff
  • Transport coordination between hospitals
  • Pediatric and newborn mobile intensive care unit transport services
  • Record requests for emergency department and urgent care visits

Our liaison programs are designed to strengthen the partnership between community providers and Dayton Children’s. From dedicated physician liaisons to nurse and interface support, these programs offer personalized support, education, and resources to help you provide seamless pediatric care.

This program strengthens and enhances communications and the relationship between you, your office staff and Dayton Children’s. In addition, we provide resources and materials to keep physicians and office staff aware of developments and services offered at Dayton Children’s.

Our nurse liaison program services can range from a one-time pediatric education, up to a very comprehensive partnership, with an embedded onsite liaison who manages your pediatric care on a continuing basis. Partnerships are customized to be flexible and affordable, providing a consistent pediatric presence to meet your organization’s needs and equipping your team to provide top notch pediatric care in your community.
