Cindy Burger, MS, RN, is a vice president and the chief experience officer. This position plays a key role in meeting the hospital’s mission and is a key focus area for the hospitals strategic roadmap, Destination 2020. In this role Cindy combines her clinical expertise with her leadership experience to help transform the patient, family and employee experience at Dayton Children’s. She is responsible for employee experience (human relations), patient and family experience, facilities and public safety.

Before stepping into this role, Cindy held the position of the clinical project executive and has led the clinical design of the long-range master facility planning. Her expertise in clinical evidence-based design and her ability to translate that effectively into operations led to two prestigious Environment of Care awards for the hospital. Under her guidance, the master facilities renewal plan is bringing new life to the hospital. The most recent accomplishment is the eight-story patient care tower in the center of the main campus which opened in June, 2017.

Cindy has been with Dayton Children’s since 1988. Cindy has served as the director of the Dayton Children’s newborn intensive care unit (NICU), as well as provided leadership for the operations of the Southwest Ohio Neonatal Collaborative, the care alliance with Miami Valley Hospital.
