Abbey Pettiford
Injury Prevention Outreach Supervisor
Abbey Pettiford is the Injury Prevention Outreach Supervisor at the Center for Health Equity at Dayton Children's. She has worked at Dayton Children’s Hospital since 2016 and is responsible for Dayton Children’s injury prevention programming. She serves as the Dayton Safe Routes to Schools Coordinator and the Safe Kids Greater Dayton Coordinator. Abbey is an expert in preventing unintentional injuries in children. She uses data to build programs and educational resources for the community.
Abbey holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton in Education. She has a background in education and community outreach and has six years of experience in injury prevention. Abbey is a board member of Miami Valley Leave No Child Inside, serves on the Community Action Team for Public Health Dayton and Montgomery County’s Everyone Reach One Maternal and Infant Vitality Task Force and serves on the City of Dayton and Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission’s Active Transportation steering committees. She is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and has training from the American Trauma Society in injury prevention program coordination.
