when should I choose urgent care?

Dayton Children’s urgent care centers are the only urgent care centers in the Dayton region that are fully staffed by board-certified pediatricians. Our urgent care centers compliment your child’s doctor by offering care when the doctor’s office is typically closed.

Sometimes illnesses and injuries aren’t life threatening but need medical attention on the same day. If that’s the case, and your doctor doesn’t have an appointment available, consider going to an urgent care center.

Urgent care centers typically allow walk-ins without appointments, and are equipped and staffed to treat minor, non-critical issues. Patients will usually be seen by a doctor and might be able to get X-rays or blood drawn if needed.

trusted pediatric care, when you need it

Dayton Children’s urgent care locations offer expert pediatric care for non-emergency conditions when your child’s doctor isn’t available. Staffed exclusively by pediatric-trained providers, these centers ensure timely treatment and support for children from birth through age 21.

helpful info

Similar to making an appointment at a pediatrician’s office, parents should save their spot online to make sure their visit is at a convenient time for them and to reduce the amount of time spent in the waiting room. Walk-ins are also welcome, however scheduled patients will be seen first so we encourage you to check in before you arrive.

Please note that your time choice is only a reservation. Some patients may still have to wait upon arrival. The reservation time given is your anticipated time to a treatment room and does not indicate when you will be seen by a provider; this is defined as the time you check in at the front desk until you are greeted by a staff member.

what to expect
When you visit a Dayton Children’s urgent care location, you can expect the same pediatric difference that you experience at all of our locations. Kids are not little adults and deserve care designed just for them.

Our board-certified pediatricians are available to care for your child when their primary care doctor isn’t available. We can send a summary of the visit to your child’s primary care provider, with your permission, to ensure they stay informed about your child’s care.
