Dayton Children’s Home Care provides high-quality pediatric home care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across 22 counties. Our team includes experienced pediatric nurses and pharmacists who understand how children heal and cope with illness.
Whether your child is recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or learning to use new medical equipment, we meet families where they are—at home, school, daycare, or in the community. Our nurses schedule visits at convenient times and always have someone on call for emergencies.

Our team works closely with your child’s Dayton Children’s specialists and primary provider to ensure care is well-coordinated, safe, and effective. Families also receive hands-on education and support to confidently care for their child at home.

Dayton Children’s offers rental and purchase options for medical equipment designed specifically for children, helping families access the right equipment to support care and comfort at home.
A physician referral is required to receive medical equipment. Insurance coverage will determine whether items are rented or purchased. Any equipment can be picked up at our administrative office for Children’s Home Care of Dayton at main campus, where a nurse will provide instruction for safe use. For any questions after receiving your equipment, contact our home care team at 937-641-3000.

Through our home care services at Children’s Home Care of Dayton, we offer a Care and Comfort program. This program offers palliative care services to children with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. The staff for this program understands the needs of children with life-threatening illnesses and the needs of their families. It is our goal to provide family-centered care that respects the dignity and uniqueness of every child and family.
Our comprehensive services make it possible for families to care for their seriously ill child at home. These include:
- Nurses with pediatric expertise on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Infusion therapies
- Pain management
- In-home blood transfusions
- Intensive family support
- Interdisciplinary team case management
- Coordinator and advocacy with community resources
- A family support specialist is available to provide individualized services, including:
- Emotional support
- Parent education
- Sibling support
- Short-term family intervention
- Referrals and resources
- Bereavement support
For added support, our BREATHE in-home program offers education, home assessments and supplies to reduce asthma triggers. Our clinic team also offers education for asthma patients and their families during office visits.

Dayton Children’s home infusion pharmacy provides specialized medications and support for children who need infusion therapy at home. Our pediatric-trained pharmacists and nursing staff work together to ensure safe, effective treatment outside the hospital setting, tailored to each child’s unique needs.
