The intermediate care unit (IMCU) at The Children's Medical Center of Dayton is a six-bed united dedicated to caring for children who are chronically ill, technology dependent and/or who require close observation. The unit provides continuous monitoring and observation as well as a nursing staff that is trained and focused on providing consistent care from the hospital to the home. Child life, rehabilitative therapists and social work are involved in routine daily activities that enhance normal growth and development for the long-term hospitalized child.
