Quality of care
Accreditations, verifications and staff credentials
Dayton Children’s is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). In 2006, Dayton Children’s went through its first unannounced survey by the JCAHO and received its nationwide seal of approval for pediatric health care.
Several key programs at Dayton Children’s such as cancer care, trauma and sleep disorders are verified by the appropriate regulating organizations. This verification means that all standards for quality care have been met or exceeded.
The quality and expertise of our physicians, nurses, allied health and support staff are ensured through various standards, policies and procedures that are strictly followed.
We know that working with children and families requires a different set of skills, experience and a higher level of training than individuals who care only for adults. Hiring the right people helps ensure that Dayton Children’s standards of quality care can be carried out consistently and in various settings.
