At Dayton Children's, we strive to provide the highest possible level of care to our pediatric patients. One way we do this is through the use of proven protocols for many of the illnesses and diseases we treat. These are based on research and evidence-based studies in the medical literature.
Once we develop these guidelines, we continually validate that the care delivered results in good clinical outcomes for our patients. For that reason, we have identified many indicators that help us measure both our successes and those times when we have opportunities to continually improve our care delivery.
We also believe that caring for our pediatric patients must be done in collaboration with the families. To that end, we look at how effectively we engage you, the parents and caregivers, in learning how to give medications and respond to your child's responses to treatment and care. We measure many aspects of care—from length of stay, return visits for certain illnesses, effective use of medications and timely medication delivery. Our goal is to assure that we remain your first choice for pediatric health care!
