Partnerships with others in the community have helped Dayton Children's fulfill its mission of advocacy, education and providing trusted pediatric health and safety information.
Child Advocacy
Our commitment to child advocacy takes us into the community through a variety of programs.
By partnering with others, we have been able to provide health and safety programs such as child safety seat checks, Safe on Saturday and parenting classes as well as bicycle helmets and car seats to families at no charge. A variety of pediatric specialty services are also available in areas such as Lima, Middletown, Springfield, Piqua and Troy where Children's has established clinics.
The Family Resource Center -- a lending library for parents, families, staff and the community -- is funded by the Little Exchange of Oakwood with support from area organizations. The resource center offers books, journals, videotapes and pamphlets for children and adults of a variety of pediatric health and safety topics as well as internet searches. In addition, the Family Resource Center offers guest services such as fax, telephone and internet access for parents and families of children being treated.
CARE House, a community advocacy center for children who have been abused, is a centralized, child-oriented facility for child interviews, team consultations and treatment for child abuse victims. The center is located across the street from Children's and is a partnership between Children's, Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office and Montgomery County Children Services.
In every part of The Children's Medical Center of Dayton, your child will be treated by a caring, committed staff who know and understand children and in an environment designed to help children heal. Remember, if it's your child, it has to be Dayton Children's.
